Solution and Plan of Action
Children from the United States are suffering from the poor malnutrition that they are given in their
homes. Many children are suffering from heart disease and type two diabetes, As this is becoming a
more epidemic issue, there are also actions being taken by parents and teachers. Parents are finding
solutions to the problem. The child is learning to eat healthier and he or she is finding new ways to
loose weight by physically moving more. Playing sixty minutes each day may help children lose
weight. As the children play, they are burning calories and are exercising their muscles. This is a
good way to prevent health issues along the way and a good way to cut down some calories. The
CDC recommends the child to balance the food that he or she eats and to have healthy eating habits.
The CDC admits, " To help your child maintain a healthy weight, balance the calories your child
consumes from foods and beverages with the calories your child uses through physical activity and
normal growth." Balancing food and exercise may help the child to cut down extra weight on him or
her.
Choosing wisely what foods to consume may help the child eat healthier and loose weight.

Eating healthier can improve the child's physical health and mental health. Parents can make beautiful
dishes and good snacks for the child to eat. This can be a combination of vegetables and fruits.

There are other ways to improve the child's health, some of the ways are by adding chores to do in
the house or outside cleaning the yard. This keeps the child physically active and this helps the child
learn skills in their lifetime. The CDC states, "Instead, encourage your children to find fun activities to
do with family members or on their own that simply involve more activity." The more that the child is
active, the lesser the chances are for him or her to become obese or overweight. Another way that this
can improve the child's health are by reducing the stress that the child may have. By doing these
activities, the child may improve their health as a young teen. Having a good healthy life and good
eating habits can improve their health as an adult.
Industries can reduce the amount of sugar brought in the products that teens and children are
consuming. By lowering the amount of sugar in products can improve the health of students and
children around the U.K. In the article, "Childhood obesity: a plan for action", it admits "As a first
major step towards tackling childhood obesity, we will be introducing a soft drinks industry levy
across the UK. In England, the revenue from the levy will be invested in programmes to reduce
obesity and encourage physical activity and balanced diets for school age children."
If more teens exercise, there could be fewer obesity rates, and if the industries lower fats in
foods, there could be also a decrease in obesity rates on teens.
